Light Magic Flute (LMF)3/4" clear plastic ball on ultra-thin 3/32" fiberglass handle. Ideal for the Magic Flute excerpt, particularly on lighter weight bells.
Heavy Magic Flute (HMF)11/32" phenolic ball with brass insert on ultra-thin fiberglass handle. Same use as the Light Magic Flute, but with more weight for a fuller sound. Especially well suited to heavier bells like Deagan Roundtops
3/4" Black (34B)3/4" black phenolic ball with brass insert on thin 1/8" fiberglass handle. Ideal for soft, fast, articulate bell passages, especially in the upper register of the instrument. Also sounds terrific on crotales.
1" Clear (1C)1"clear ball on 1/8" fiberglass handle. This mallet was formerly called the "La Mer" stick. Clean, clear and very pretty sounding. Perfect for various passages in La Mer, Glazunow Violin Concerto, Sleeping Beauty and the like.
1" Black "Celeste" (CEL)The new Celeste mallet has all the same applications as the original version, but is a better sounding, more consistent mallet. It is a 1” black phenolic ball with a small brass insert covered in a thin layer of rubber. It is heavier than the original, giving it a fuller sound and making it more suitable for using in the orchestra. This mallet turns your glock into a celeste. It is super warm with far less “tick” than typical plastic and brass sticks, yet still has adequate clarity and projection. Ideal for Forest Murmers, La Mer, Don Juan, and the like.
5/8" Brass (58B)This stick functions in much the same way as your general- purpose brass stick on rattan, but with the resilience and delicacy of a thin fiberglass handle. It has excellent projection but with reduced contact sound and frame noise. Great for lots of general playing where a brilliant brass sound is required.
3/4" Aluminum (34A)This stick is ideal for bright, articulate passages, like those found in Exotic Birds. It has superb clarity and tone but never over-powers the bars. Also sounds great on crotales.
7/8" Aluminum (78A)Great for a wide range of playing. Big, bright sound with minimal contact and case noise and a slightly more transparent character than a brass mallet. Ideal for the Sorcerer’s “waterfall” excerpt, Russian Easter and the like.
1" Black (1B)The 1” black is the same as the Celeste stick, but without the rubber covering. The 1” phenolic core with a small brass insert produces a clean, clear sound, with a slightly brighter sound with more body than the 1” clear. Perfect for excerpts in Sorcerers or any passage requiring a lighter, clearer sound than your general rattan bell mallet.
